Medallion Pools - Family Owned and Operated Since 1960

April 09 Issue

THANK YOU First of all I want to thank all of you who attended our open house on March 28th. Because of you we had the most successful open house in the history of our company. I know the ones that attended were able to benefit from the largest sale in our company history as well.

The reception to our new line of Traeger grills was unbelievable. Chef Perkinson prepared pork loin, salmon, chicken, venison, pizzas, cookies and who could forget the grilled frog legs. Many thanks to Chef Perkinson for the delicious food cooked on the Traeger grill. To find out more about our traeger grill visit our store or see them on the Traeger web page at:

The new battery powered vacuums were a hit as well. To be able to vacuum your pool without having to connect a vacuum hose is what customers told us they really like. What we also have found is that pool owners with automatic pool vacuums like the pool blaster for spot cleaning when they have guests coming over.

The pool season is upon us. We are now talking days not weeks before we start taking off the covers of our pools. It just a matter of days before we start firing up our grills and having the pool parties and cookouts. If you are like me, you just can't wait to start enjoying your pool.

Sincerely,

John Mazza, President

Questions From The Store and Tips From The Experts

What is the Virginia Graham Baker Act and how does it affect me?

The Virginia Graham Baker Act was passed in response to bottom drains in pools. In recent years a number of small children have been sucked to the bottom of pools and were either permanently injured or in a number of case died. This new law mandates that certain equipment must be installed on pools to prevent these tragedies. It is presently mandatory for all commercial pools and public use pools to be equipment with these special anti-entrapment devices and certain states have required this on residential pools with main drains as well. If your pool does not have a main drain than this new law will not affect you.

If you own a Medallion pool more than likely you do not have a main drain. For years Medallion saw the danger of a main drain and never found the benefit of having a main drain. When our customers asked about a main drain we always suggested that instead of a main drain, put in a moving drain - an automatic pool cleaner that cannot entrap any child or adult.

Product Spotlight - Vac-Alert

Vac AlertWhen a swimmer becomes stuck to a drain or suction outlet in a swimming pool, spa, wading pool or hot tub the force of the filtration system can be tremendous. This "suction entrapment" will hold the bather in its grip until either the vacuum is broken, or he or she drowns, defying the rescue efforts of onlookers.

Vac-Alert provides an important layer or protection to suction entrapment with our safety vacuum release system.
