- Can I assemble and install a FunTub myself? Yes you can! Our do it yourself installation manual covers the installation of your FunTub from layout to adding water. Medallion also offers a toll free technical support line to help you with any questions that you may have while assembling your Spa.
- If I am not the do it yourself type can I hire someone to build it for me? Yes. You may have a local handyman, or general contractor who can do the job for you.
- How long will it take to receive my FunTub once I have placed my order? Once you have ordered your Medallion Funtub and your order has been processed it is normally shipped from our warehouse within 5-7 working days. The length of time for you to receive your spa depends on your geographic location. To give you an idea, a shipment to the West Coast normally takes 7 days. If you are in the Mid-West 4 to 5 days. The normal time for East Coast shipments is 2 to 3 days. Your FunTub will be shipped from our manufacturing center located in Colonial Heights, Virginia.
- What shapes are available? Our standard shape is an octagon or a stretched octagon. (Please see your brochure for complete details). If you have not received a brochure please go to the information request form on our web page.
- Can I recess my FunTub in a deck? Yes. Many FunTub owners go this route. You can either build your deck around the FunTub or just cut a hole in an existing deck according to the size of spa that you purchased. Medallion highly recommends that you assemble the spa completely before either building or cutting your deck.
- What should I put underneath my FunTub for support? Your FunTub should sit on a cement slab approximately 4 inches thick. The size of the slab will depend on the size of FunTub purchased. If you are sitting your FunTub on top of a deck, you need to be sure that extra supports are added to hold the weight. As codes may vary please check with your local building officials and or a professional engineer to determine what type of support you will need for your particular deck.
- How do I heat my FunTub? Your FunTub comes with a spa pack, complete with an electric heater. Gas Heaters are available using Natural Gas or Propane depending on what is available in your area. A gas heater will save you money in the long run. Another key advantage to owning a gas heater is that you can get the water temperature where you want it quickly.
- What do I need as far as electrical supply for my FunTub? Medallion strongly recommends that you have a certified electrician do all of your electrical work. As local codes may vary please talk to your electrician for details. The FunTub spa pack may be hooked up to a 110-volt or 220-volt power supply. If you hook it up to a 110-volt power supply the heater will only heat on the low speed jet setting with the air blower off. If you hook up to a 220-volt power supply your heater will heat while on any pump or blower speed setting. For a 220-volt hook up you will need a 50 amp GFCI breaker in your panel box. We recommend that you use a 220-volt source.
- What liner pattern comes with the FunTub? You may choose any one of the many beautiful patterns available. Click here to see them..
- What is used to keep the water clean? First of all, your FunTub comes standard with a skim filter. It uses two cartridges to filter the water. You may use Chlorine, Bromine, or any other Sanitizer available on the market to keep your water sparkling clear.
- Does the FunTub come with a light? Yes, every model of the FunTub comes standard with a light. The light is wired directly into your spa pack needing no additional power source.
- Do you use quality equipment? We have been in business since 1960 and associate only with the finest equipment manufacturers in the Pool & Spa Industry. You don't stay in business as long as we have by selling less that quality products to your customers!
- What about warranties? We've got you covered! Your FunTub shell comes standard with a 10 year limited, prorated warranty. Your spa equipment pack, liner, and all other accessories are per individual manufacturer warranties. Please see your individual warranty cards for complete details.
- How do I keep my spa from freezing during the winter months? Remember that you will be using your spa all year around. As long as your spa pack is turned on it will automatically keep the water at a minimum temperature of 65 degrees. Please see your owners manual for details.
- Does my FunTub come with a cover? Yes. Every FunTub comes complete with a quality, decorative cover. The cover is used to retain heat in your spa. It comes complete with locking hinges which can be hooked to your cabinet or decking. This will help eliminate unauthorized use of your FunTub as the locks come with special keys.
- Can I take my FunTub with me if I move? Yes. Simply disconnect the spa pack, drain it, and two people can load it on a truck or trailer.
- Can I change the liner? Yes. You may change the liner simply by ordering a new one and putting it in just like you did the first one. Unlike acrylic spas which limit you because once you choose a color it can never be changed. Liners are relatively inexpensive and can give your old spa a brand new look!
- How long will the liner last? A FunTub liner comes standard with a 10 year limited, prorated warranty from the liner manufacturer. We have sold FunTubs in the past where the liner has lasted over 15 years! However keep in mind that the actual life of a liner could be shorter or longer depending on water chemistry and other variables. Please see your warranty card or ask your Sales Specialist for complete details.
